    DIY Wedding Invitations

These days, with so much inspiration at our fingertips, it’s a great cost saving option for a bride to create her own wedding stationary.  Beyond the cost benefits, by creating your own wedding stationary, you can completely personalize and capture your style on everything from the invitations to the programs, place cards and more.

We are here to help with our broad collection of card stock, blank invitations, envelopes and accessories.  With post cards for your “Save the Dates”, flat cards for your invitations, pens for addressing the envelopes, adhesives and ribbon to hold everything together, place cards for seating your guests and folded cards for your sending “Thank You”, we’ve got you covered!

    Decisions, Decisions

Choosing the base of your design is a critical first step.  White, Natural, Ivory?  Smooth, textured, linen? Matte, pearlized or metallic?  Choose the style of invitations that tie in with your overall theme and color palette. What about size?  A2, A7, square?  So many choices and don’t forget, we offer custom cutting, scoring and corner rounding services if you have a specific size you want!

How much to order?  A good rule of thumb is to order approximately 25% more than you plan on sending.  You may have to resend a lost one, additional guests may need to be invited and of course some will need to be kept as keepsakes.  Order additional envelopes as well in case there are some mistakes made when your addressing them.

    Enclosures

Aside from using an inner and outer envelope, what else will you include in your mailed invitation?  An RSVP is probably in order, but how about directions to your wedding location?  A list of hotels for out of town guests?  Any additional information that you want to let your guests know?

    Beyond the Invitation

Whether the ceremony is informal or formal, a program gives your guests an opportunity to see what’s in store and know the names of the wedding party.  After the ceremony, placecards direct your guests to their seat.  And certainly you’ll want to send thank you cards for all those thoughtful gifts you’ll receive!
